The Canturbury Inn is located at 311 W. Gorham, near the corner of W. Gorham and State St. Our small, 6-room inn is above a bookstore in the heart of the State Street shopping and entertainment district. The inn was originally part of the Canterbury bookstore which has since closed and a different bookstore has taken its place. The inn has a literary theme with all rooms named after stories from the Canterbury Tales. Each room features a stunning mural by a local artist. We have no front desk so when guests book, they will receive a building code and instructions to access their room. We also do not provide daily maid service — we never enter rooms after a guest checks in.
Parking: There are 25-minute metered parking spaces on the street for loading and unloading. Or use the city Buckeye lot at 214 W. Gorham. Most street parking in Madison is free from 6PM-7AM. There is a parking garage 2 blocks away at 318 W. Mifflin St ($8 nights and weekends.) There is also small lot behind our building at 301 W. Broom ($4 from 4PM-8AM)
